What we eat is so important for our overall health. But, so too, is how we eat. Mindful Eating – something I’ve been practicing as of late. Connect with whomever you’re sharing a meal with (even if it’s just you)…slow down, and practice gratitude for the connection of your food…from where it came from to the hands in between that brought it to your plate…be attentive to the color, texture, and aroma of your food. Taste each bite, and take time to chew, savor, and digest. Disconnect from technology and be present…turn off the TV, put your phone away, light a candle, and have a picnic outside. Nourishing our bodies is a way to nourish our human connections as well. Food for thought.
